The Lake City Adult Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program continues to be an exciting place to be in Lake City! The Program offers daily sessions of life skills training, restoration or maintenance, in a nurturing, safe, and therapeutic environment. The Program welcomes back former Director, Janet Boggs Kuykendall, who spent her time away from the Foundation obtaining more credentials, returning as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). She continues to have a strong desire to lead the staff in growing the Program, in providing mentoring and training for staff development, and in helping expand services to the clients and to the community.
There are two Certified Behavioral Health Technicians (CBHT) on board, Lillian Keys and Lucia Gadsby. Lillian has been with the Foundation over 12 years and Lucia joined the Program about 3 months ago, coming in with many years of experience working with a similar population. The part-time position of Administrative Assistant/CBHT is in the process of being filled.
In addition to daily psycho-educational groups, the clients enjoy bi-weekly outings in the community with staff to enhance their communication and social skills in a real social setting. “Bowling Day” is one of everyone’s favorite recreational spots! The bowling alley staff is always happy to see the clients and is very accommodating to their needs. The clients enjoy “eating out” that day, as lunch is provided. Photos of the clients are taken during the event and posted on the bulletin boards in the day room. The clients especially enjoy seeing themselves in these photos and reminiscing about the day.
At Henry & Rilla White Youth Foundation, we are always striving to do better so Tell Us What You Think!
MST C8 Team with Traci Cox, Employee of the Quarter
Although Ms. Traci Cox has only been with the agency a little over one year, she has already been acknowledged as an outstanding MST Therapist. Traci works on the MST Circuit 8 team, and her supervisor and the MST/EBA consultants praise the quality of her work and her “can do” attitude. Her paperwork is well done, she is a team player, and her interactions and dedication to the families on her caseload are admirable. Traci was recently nominated by the MST consultant for the “Whatever It Takes” Award. Thank you Ms. Cox for a fabulous first year and for making a difference in the lives of the families you work with!
